Hong Kong, 29th Dec

We arrived at YMCA International House situated at Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon. This hotel is really near to the Yau Ma Tei's MTR station. It's just less than 5 minutes walk. So effing convenient.

At the front desk, the staff told us that they upgraded our rooms. We didn't know what room did they upgrade us to. But, we were all yippee-ing, yoohoo-ing and stuff.

The minute we stepped into our room, all 5 jaws dropped open!

the room.

Does it look like an UPgraded room to you? Certainly NOT. Who cares anyway. Not like we're gona spend the whole day in the room. =.="

the bathroom is just......THIS big.

That morning, we walked to a nearby dim sum restaurant called Hou Wan. Or is it Hou Choi? They serve the BEST dim sum!! [didn't try Maxim's, so this is the best we tried]

delicious-ness.

plain, yet yummy.

OMG!! This is the greatest of all. Char Leung!!
It is yau char kuey wrapped in chee cheong fun's pastry.

Am still craving for char leung today!! Whoosh.... And look at how much food we ordered. Definitely can feed about 12 pax but we managed to finished it all by ourselves. Hehe.

Oh and siu loong pau is also recommended. The soup is delicious.

And and and their har kao too!! In Kl the pastry is like so thick and so fake. But there, OMG thank god I tried!! Its just one fine and thin layer of pastry. Prawn also so fresh. Seriously good!!

After dim sum, we took MTR to Central station to go to Hong Kong Island.

look at the wind effect in the MTR.

Finally!! Hong Kong Island!! First stop I think is Stanley street?

billboard.

The first item I bought is a hair dryer!! Haha. As funny as it may sounds but for the same price I paid for the made in Italy product in Hong Kong is the same price as a Taiwan or China product. So, of course buy the made in Italy one right?

the ting-ting bus.

Not much at Stanley street and after that we spent quite some time looking for our way to take the tram up to Victoria's Peak. We were actually lost at the underground train station. Haha. Embarrassing? YES!! Cuz the network is so long. so many exits. all quite far away. How not to get lost?!! Great experience though.

Poor daddy Ch'ng wore the wrong pair of shoe to holiday. He's feet were hurting all the time. But worry not. Later that day, he bought himself a ORIGINAL ADIDAS shoe!! Even I don't have one. And when we checked the price in Penang, they were selling for around RM270 but he bought it for RM150 and below. Cheap cheap cheap!

We didn't pay extra to go up to the highest level. So we could only stop at Burger King's walkway to have a city view.

the view at the peak.

how I wish to own a house up there, but it seems very impossible in HK.

can see your tummy! Haha.

There was this EA Game centre up there.

this is Julz, playing SIMS on a super huge screen!

play a real football game without a real ball and field!

gelato.

Stitch!! Not mine though I wanted one very badly.

Had lunch at 3pm at Burger King. Yes, 3pm it was. Our meal times through out the whole trip was just so jumbled up. Then took a bus down hill. Hung around Chung Wan and did lots lots lots of walking around.

From afar, we saw HUI LAU SAN's signboard!! We even had to queue to get a table. Hui Lau San is well known for its mango desserts. Mango this, mango that.

the mangoes above us were glowing gold!!

These were what we ordered at one table [we were separated to two tables] and it is all YUMMY-LICIOUS food!!

granny's don't know what.

mango + pomelo + vanilla ice cream + mango pudding.

mango pudding + mango ice cream.

mango + strawberry + white jelly

Then we walked and walked and more walking.

look at the crowd. MADness.

just love this billboard.

It was getting late and we were kinda stuffed with Burger King's + desserts but we still insist on trying out roast goose at Yung Kee Restaurant, just next to Lan Kwai Fong street.

This restaurant is huge. They have about 3 floors altogether! In fact, they own the whole building. Rental in HK is so expensive and having to afford such a big restaurant must be a huge success!

when we entered the restaurant....

when we left the restaurant.

Their business is just so good that we were told to wait for an hour, OUTSIDE! But we were lucky cuz we waited for only less than half an hour. And were asked why didn't we make reservations. =.="

mum looking so happy....

dad is all ready to feast.....

Urm, actually I put the napkin there for him. Hehe. Big Daddy mah.

And here comes the roasted goose!!!!!!!

Two thumbs up for Yung Kee's roasted goose!! We ordered other food as well and they were all good.

Obviously I ate the most la. Undeniable. They said I ate half the goose. Which is believable lo. Heh.

Hoping off to Lan Kwai Fong street. This is the famous street where ALL HK actor/actress will get all drunky and puke on the street when they are heartbroken etc etc.

ushering in the new year.

Good night all. Too exhausted from walking. Walk walk walk is all we ever know.
